Saludos.

Dinner Question -

Dinner Question

It seems a little slow on the WTF lately….figured I would throw out a question that I have pondered on occasion. If you could have dinner with one person (past or present) from the world of watches who would it be and why?

For me it used to be H. Wilsdorf for obvious reasons. But I would say it has become Patrick Heiniger. I am curious what could possibly have happened to cause him to give up his and his family’s legacy at the head of Rolex. Aside from being one of only 3 people (and the only one still alive) to ever lead Rolex until his aforementioned exit, I would love to discuss his vertical integration strategy – which I believe was a stroke of genius in the prelude to the recent economic crisis and watch industry contraction. Despite the rumors regarding Rolex’s financial condition, I believe his foresight positioned Rolex to weather the storm and emerge stronger than ever on the other side.
